Blotter: Woman assaulted in the parking lot of Waffle House

A woman was assaulted Monday in the parking lot of the South Jake Alexander Boulevard Waffle House.

According to police reports, she left the restaurant with others when a man and his girlfriend began having a physical altercation in the parking lot.

While witnesses tried to defend the girlfriend, she, in turn, assaulted the woman before leaving with the man who had been assaulting her.

  • A woman reported Friday that she was the victim of fraud in the 100 block of South Main Street.
  • A woman reported a vandalism Friday in the 1400 block of West Monroe Street.
  • A man reported vandalism and trespassing in the 100 block of South Jackson Street on Saturday.
  • A man reported a larceny of a bicycle Saturday in the 1500 block of West Colonial Drive.
  • A woman reported a larceny in the 100 block of John Penn Circle on Saturday.
  • Dunkin Donuts on East Innes Street reported a larceny on Sunday after two unknown black males entered through the unlocked back door and took money from the manager’s office. The door was left open by a delivery driver.
  • A larceny occurred at Walmart on Sunday when three women walked in and took a handful of empty grocery bags. The three filled the bags with health and beauty, cosmetics and clothing items and attempted to leave the store. They were stopped by loss prevention.
  • A woman reported a burglary in the 100 block of Rowan Mill Road Sunday, stating that her property had been damaged and syrup spread throughout the residence.
  • Shakhil Sayquon Dunn, 21, was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and felony discharging a weapon in occupied property on Friday in the 100 block of West Liberty Street. He was held on a $100,000 bond.
  • Damario Antwan Chalk, 39, was charged with misdemeanor assault on a female in the 1400 block of West Bank Street on Friday.
  • Kenny Dewayne Ellis, 44, was charged Saturday with misdemeanor injury to personal property in the 100 block of South Jackson Street. He was held on a $500 bond.
  • Earleen Catheran Logan, 50, was charged with misdemeanor second-degree trespassing, misdemeanor being intoxicated and disruptive and misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer in the 1400 block of Richard Street.  She was held on a $500 bond.
  • Michael Eugene Lewis, 57, was charged with felony breaking and entering into a motor vehicle and misdemeanor larceny on Sunday in the 1000 block of Richard Street. He was held on a $5,000 bond.

In Rowan County Sheriff’s office reports:

  • A woman reported a burglary Saturday in the 2500 block of Emanuel Church Road in Rockwell.
  • A burglary occurred Saturday at Primo Auto Sales, located at 2200 South U.S. 29 Highway in China Grove.
  • A woman reported Saturday she was the victim of a simple physical assault in the 700 block of Pine Ridge Road in China Grove.
  • A woman reported Sunday she was the victim of a simple physical assault in the 300 block of Messick Farm Road in Woodleaf.
  • A man reported a burglary in the 700 block of Edmiston Road in Mount Ulla on Sunday.
  • A man reported a larceny in the 800 block of Gold Knob Road in Salisbury on Sunday.
  • Barbara Miller Allen, 62, was charged with misdemeanor injury to real property on Saturday in the 100 block of Morgan Acres Drive in Gold Hill.
  • Dennis J. Allen, 60, was charged with misdemeanor communicating threats in the 100 block of Morgan Acres Drive in Gold Hill on Saturday.
  • Timothy Clarence Smith, 32, was charged with felony escape from county or city confinement facility on Saturday in the 1000 block of Matika Drive.
  • Ricky Anthony Goble, 57, was charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering into a building in the 700 block of Edmiston Road in Mount Ulla.
  • James Matthew Creech, 40, was charged with misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer in the 2500 block of Hill Top Drive in Salisbury.
