Rowan County residents who are not registered to vote and who want to participate in the May 8 primary must register by April 13.

Voters who have moved since the last election must change their address by the same date.

It also is the last day for voters to change their party affiliation to be effective in this year’s primary.

Voters registered with a political party may only participate in that party’s primary. Voters who are registered as unaffiliated may choose which primary to vote in.
