Blotter: Break-ins reported in Westcliffe subdivision

SALISBURY — Salisbury police are looking into a number of vehicle break-ins in the Westcliffe subdivision, most of which occurred overnight Monday.

A woman reported Tuesday that someone took items from her vehicle in the 400 block of Willow Road. She said her vehicle was secured from 11 p.m. Monday until 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A woman reported a vehicle break-in in the 100 block of Ashbrook Road between 11:30 p.m. Monday and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A woman reported two vehicles were broken into at home in the 400 block of Willow Road. Some items were stolen from the vehicles and later recovered in a neighbor’s yard.

A woman told police items were stolen from her vehicle parked at her home in the 500 block of Willow Road. She discovered the break-in about 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Two more break-ins were reported in the 400 block of Willow Road and the 100 block of Sycamore Road.

The break-ins come just days after a number of break-ins were reported in a neighborhood off Hurley School Road, also in the western part of the county. Those break-ins occurred April 5 and April 6.

• A woman on Monday reported a broken window on the porch of her house in the 200 block of Skyline Circle.

• A man reported Monday a larceny from a building in the 200 block of North Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

• A woman reported Tuesday that someone ripped open her mail and took what was inside in the 700 block of North Main Street.

• A woman on Tuesday reported an attempted break-in in the 1600 block of Standish Street.

In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports:

• A man on Tuesday reported fraud in the 1000 block of Old Oak Lane, Woodleaf.

• Sandy Ridge Service reported Tuesday that it was the victim of fraud in the 800 block of N.C. 153, China Grove.

• A man on Tuesday reported a burglary in the 100 block of Orchard Road, Rockwell.

• A woman on Tuesday reported a physical assault in the 200 block of Ferrell Lane.

• Robert Lee Ross, 33, was charged Tuesday with misdemeanor simple assault while at the Rowan County Courthouse.

• Michael Tarlton, 52, was charged Tuesday with felony possession of a controlled substance Schedule II in the 1200 block of Meadow Creek Drive, China Grove.

• Nicholas Dale Joyner, 37, was charged on Tuesday with misdemeanor assault on a female in the 200 block of Ferrell Lane.

• Jarvis Copeland, 37, was charged Tuesday with felony possession of a controlled substance on jail premises while at the Rowan County Detention Center.
