SALISBURY — A local woman used two children to help her steal items from Walmart and hide them in a stroller, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

Tonya Walls, 39, was charged Saturday with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and misdemeanor larceny.

A police report said Walls was in the store at 323 S. Arlington St. along with two 12-year-old girls and an infant whom she was pushing in a stroller. While walking through the store, the girls took items, including clothes, and placed them in the bottom of the stroller.

The store’s loss prevention officer saw them on store video and contacted police. The security officer followed the woman and children as they left the store. The girls were both issued juvenile petitions.
