Police: Tabernacle Street stabbing victim not cooperative
SALISBURY — The Salisbury Police Department says a 16-year-old stabbing victim has not been cooperative in its investigation into his injury after a Sunday morning fight.
Police Lt. Greg Beam said the victim and suspect knew each other and had fought that morning. Police have identified a suspect but have not gotten cooperation from the victim, Shane Charles, or the suspect.
The suspect, also identified as a teenager, stabbed Charles in the stomach, police said. Charles was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where he underwent surgery to assess his injuries, which are not life-threatening.
The stabbing occurred at 1307 Tabernacle St. about 11 a.m. Sunday.
