SALISBURY — Thieves stole a truck and landscaping equipment from a local business while employees were working, Rowan County authorities said Tuesday.

The theft occurred Monday afternoon at 145 Kent Road. Two employees of Hager Landscaping were in the backyard of a home with backpack leaf blowers and hearing protection. Both men said they didn’t hear anything during the theft.

Officials with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said the vehicle is a white Isuzu box truck with a lift gate. The truck has the words “antique restoration” painted on the side. It contained two mowers — a zero-turn Turf Tiger manufactured by Scag and a Scag walk-behind 52-inch mower.

In addition, there were two string trimmers, a 4-gallon backpack sprayer and a toolbox with various tools in the vehicle.

The license plate number on the truck is FD9524.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the truck is asked to contact the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office at 704-216-8700 or Salisbury-Rowan CrimeStoppers at 866-639-5245.
