Catherine Livingston joins Boston Ballet

Davidson native Catherine Livingston joins Boston Ballet for its 2017-2018 season as a member of their second company. Ms. Livingston started her classical ballet training at the age of 11 at Piedmont School of Music & Dance, locations in Kannapolis and Charlotte, under the watchful eyes of owners Daniel and Rebecca Wiley.

During her training, Ms. Livingston performed principal roles with Piedmont Dance Theatre, including Sugar Plum Fairy of The Nutcracker with the Salisbury Symphony. During the summer, she trained at the American Ballet Theatre in California, Houston Ballet, The Juilliard School, and Colorado Ballet.

A total of 65 dancers make up the Boston Ballet roster, with 55 in the main company and ten in Boston Ballet II (BBII), Boston Ballet’s Second Company. Fifteen nationalities are represented, with dancers hailing from Albania, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Cuba, Finland, France, Georgia, Italy, Japan, Paraguay, South Korea, Spain, and the U.S.
