SALISBURY — An argument over loud music ended Sunday with a shooting that sent one person to the hospital, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The shooting occurred in the 800 block of Carpenters Circle. Police received a call reporting the shooting at 1:24 a.m. Sunday, said Police Department spokeswoman Capt. Shelia Lingle.

Kenneth White, 33, was shot in his upper leg, according to police reports.

White was transported to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center and transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Lingle said he was quickly treated and released.

Lingle said the incident started with an argument between two neighbors about loud music. One neighbor was playing music louder than the other, and there was a confrontation on the street, Lingle said.

She said police officers returned to the scene later Sunday to speak with neighbors about community relations, including the police presence in the area. She said sending officers to speak about community relations after a shooting will be common in the future.
