Area Sports Briefs: North baseball gets CCC win

North Rowan’s baseball team won a CCC game against Thomasville, 10-0, on Friday.

The teams were scheduled for a doubleheader at Finch Field, but rain sent the teams to Spencer, and they were able to play one. Joe Harrison pitched 4 2/3 innings in a five-inning contest for the win. Harrison also tripled. Jordan Goodine had two hits and two RBIs. McGwire Smith had a double and drove in a run.

Prep softball

Carson won against Stuart Cramer, 8-4, in a tournament at South Rowan.

Krista Peninger pitched a complete game with five strikeouts.  Brie Bauer and Callie Thrasher had two hits and two RBIs.

Intimidators
The Kannapolis Intimidators scored first but allowed multiple runs in four consecutive innings and fell to the Hickory Crawdads, 15-6, in the second game of a four-game set on Friday at Intimidators Stadium on Friday.
Kannapolis (7-9) saw its season-best 4-game winning streak come to an end with the loss.

Kannapolis continues the series tonight.  Gates open at 6 p.m. as the Intimidators host a Jurassic Ballpark as fans can observer and interact with some of the most amazing dinosaurs since the Crustaceous period.
The dinosaurs from Dakota and Friends will be on hand at the main entrance for children of all ages to get an up-close look at these prehistoric pets.
