SALISBURY — Police continue to look for the driver of a sport utility vehicle who they believe caused a Tuesday evening crash that sent two other vehicles into a ditch.

The crash occurred about 5:45 p.m. at Statesville Boulevard and East Colonial Drive. Police officials said that according to witnesses, a vehicle they believe to be a black SUV, likely a GMC, ran a stop sign at East Colonial Drive.

The driver did not stop but continued west on Statesville Boulevard. The vehicle would have heavy front damage, police officials said.

Two passenger cars were forced off the road, and both landed in a ditch. One landed against a tree on the driver’s side.

Salisbury firefighters worked to free the drivers, whose injuries were considered not critical.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333.
