SALISBURY — Rowan County authorities charged two teens with assaulting a Salisbury man and taking his money.

Officials said the incident occurred Feb. 8 at 600 Roseman Road around 12:45 p.m. after someone called regarding a disturbance involving a gun. The suspects had already left by the time authorities arrived.

Breanna Sartain, 17, of the 2100 block of Goodnight Road, and Myron Sanders, 18, of the 6700 block of Long Branch Road, were charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.

Arrest warrants say the teens took an unknown amount of money from Garrett Woodward of Mitchell Avenue in China Grove. The warrants say the teens threatened Woodward with a .22-caliber short revolver and hit him several times on the head with the gun.

Officials said Sartain was driving the vehicle and Sanders was a passenger.

A detective continued looking into the matter and based on statements and evidence gathered officials were able to obtain warrants on the teens.

Sartain remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond and he remains jailed under a $50,000 secured bond. Sanders is also in the county jail facing charges for two home invasions, one in January and the other earlier this month.
