Catawba at home, Livingstone travels today

All four local college basketball teams will be action this afternoon.

Catawba hosts Anderson in a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader. The Catawba women (13-9, 10-7 SAC) look to end a four-game losing streak at home against the Trojans (16-5, 13-4) at 2 p.m. Catawba won the first meeting, 77-63, at Anderson on Dec. 17.

The men’s team at Catawba (16-7, 10-7) had its six-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday and will battle Anderson as well (10-13, 8-9), at 4 p.m. Catawba won in Anderson earlier this season, 72-71.

Livingstone travels to Charlotte to play rival Johnson C. Smith.

The Lady Blue Bears (12-11, 7-6 CIAA) are 9-4 since Christmas break, but have a two-game losing streak that they hope to stop today. The Golden Bulls (17-6, 10-3) are in first place in the Southern Division and has already defeated Livingstone in Salisbury, 81-69.

In the men’s game, Livingstone (8-15, 5-8) is 2-4 since nipping J.C. Smith (10-13, 6-7) at home on Jan. 21, 68-67.

The Livingstone games are also set for 2:00 and 4:00, at Brayboy Gym, on the JCSU campus.
