SALISBURY — Rufty-Holmes Senior Center will be offering a series of Pre-Retirement Seminars on Tuesday evenings in October for individuals considering retirement in the near future.

On Oct. 4, Brian Walker, local Social Security district manager, will review “Signing Up for Social Security.” Midge Suite-Arnold and Cathy Foster with Victory Wealth Management will discuss “Retirement Income Planning” during the second session on Oct. 11. The third session on Oct. 18 will feature Marjorie J. Brown, elder law attorney, discussing “Legal Issues for Retirees.” For the final session on Oct. 25, staff with the center’s Seniors Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) will present “Medicare 101.”

Interested adults can attend one or all of the sessions, which begin at 7 p.m. There is no charge to attend, but advance registration is requested so that materials can be adequately provided to all interested parties.  To register, contact the center at 704-216-7714.

Rufty-Holmes Senior Center is located at 1120 S. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave., and serves as the community’s aging resource center, providing programs and services designed to enrich the quality of life for Rowan County older adults.
