SALISBURY — Salisbury Police are releasing few details at this time following a shooting Wednesday night where two men were shot, both of whom were taken to a Winston-Salem hospital. Police officials did say the two men know each other.

Officers responded to shots fired Wednesday around 9:05 p.m. in the 600 block of East Cemetery Street. When they arrived they found Isaiah Thomas Little, 18, and Preston Jaquad Dalton, 20, of Salisbury. Both had been shot. The two were taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Hospital officials did not have information on Little or Dalton.

Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said the crime was not random and that Little and Dalton know each other. She said she could not release a motive at this time, but said investigators are continuing to do “follow-ups.”

Salisbury Police Criminal Investigators were on the scene and at the hospital well beyond midnight. The State Bureau of Investigations assisted with the crime scene processing.
