Democratic congressional candidate and High Point business owner Bruce Davis will speak to Rowan County Democrats on Thursday during their regularly scheduled meeting.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. in the Rowan County Administration Building’s commissioners’ meeting room, located on the second floor.

Davis won the June 7 Democratic Party primary by 112 votes over Greensboro developer Bob Isner. Davis will face Republican Ted Budd, who owns a gun store, in the November general election.

Davis owns a child care center in High Point with his wife. Before that, he served 20 years in the Marine Corps. He also served as a Guilford County commissioner for multiple terms.

When he spoke to the Salisbury Post during the primary race, Davis said he hopes to work in a bipartisan manner if elected. He listed jobs and the economy as the most significant issues for the 13th District.
