One suspect dead, one sought in Concord robbery

CONCORD — The Concord Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred during an attempted armed robbery at ConcordOverStock.com, 360 Union Cemetery Road, in which one suspect was fatally shot at the scene.

At 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night, two males entered the business brandishing firearms and attempted to rob the business. As the two suspects entered, one suspect was shot by an armed security guard working at the time. Upon arriving on scene, officers found one individual deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

After conducting several interviews on scene, it was determined that the deceased person was one of the two suspects who attempted to rob the business. Investigators have the identified the deceased person but have not notified the next of kin.

The second suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers and his identity remains unknown. At this time the investigation is ongoing.
