Bike riding opportunities for everyone will be available at Patterson Farm on Saturday morning, May 21. Non-competitive ride distances include 20, 45 and 65 miles and will not be timed. All rides will begin at 8 a.m. at Patterson Farm Market on Caldwell Road and will continue through the Western Rowan County countryside. This is an event for all fitness levels and those riding will be supported by vehicles in the area that can offer mechanical support or a ride back to Patterson Farms. The course will be clearly marked and will have fire department personnel and other volunteers at major intersections. Break locations will also be available along the way with water, snacks and restrooms.

For the competitive rider, the Great Berry Ride is also offering prize money to those who race to the 24-mile mark of the 45- and 65-mile courses. The top three male and female cyclists to this spot will take home a total of $1,000 in prize money.

The event will be held, rain or shine, and all riders must wear helmets throughout their ride. Dri-fit shirts and a lunch will be provided for all participants. Proceeds benefit the Rowan County United Way and Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care.
