Salisbury’s girls soccer team lost, 7-2, at undefeated Forbush in the second round of the 2A playoffs.
Salisbury held Forbush scoreless for 20 minutes. It was 2-0 at halftime.
I was proud of our determination,” Salisbury coach Matt Parrish said. “The girls knew we were underdogs and even with prom waiting in the wings they gave it their all.”
Julia Honeycutt scored twice for Salisbury (18-4-1). Katie Bullock and Ceci Cardelle had assists.
Saturday’s game was the last for outstanding seniors Kathryn Rusher, Amelia Steinman, Kayla Honeycutt and Shelby Holden.

Prep track and field
Top four finishers at regional track meets moved on to state competition. State championships will be held in Greensboro, with 1A and 3A on Friday and 2A and 4A on Saturday.
