Four locals selected as board members for Rowan Medical Center

The Novant Health Foundation Rowan Medical Center (NHFRMC) recently announced the addition of four area residents to serve on their board of directors. Newly inducted members will serve a term of three years.
Fran Misner graduated from the University of Georgia and has a master’s degree in physical therapy from Medical College of Georgia. In addition to working with the Foundation, she has volunteered her time with the Historic Salisbury Foundation, Prevent Child Abuse Rowan, the Rowan Medical Society Alliance and First Presbyterian Day School.
A native of Rowan County, Bryan Overcash graduated from Davidson College where he received a bachelor’s degree in economics. Overcash also attended University of North Carolina’s Kenan Flagler School of Business where he received a master’s degree in accounting. A certified public accountant with public accounting experience, Overcash helped start Salisbury-based Global Contact Services (GCS), a contact center staffing and consulting agency in 2001.
A native of Tennessee, Carole Simmons received a bachelor’s degree from Middle State Tennessee State University and received a master’s degree from Vanderbilt University. Carole currently serves as the treasurer of the Charity League of Salisbury. Simmons is a former instructor at Rowan Cabarrus Community College in the Early Childhood Development Department, and was recognized as the 2015 artist for Rowan Helping Ministries’ Honor Card. Simmons is also the past president of the NHRMC Auxiliary Board.
Tracy Smith received her associate’s degree in business from Sandhills Community College. She has volunteered for many organizations including Meals on Wheels, Rowan Helping Ministries, Waterworks Visual Arts Center, Historic Salisbury and Salisbury Rowan Heart Fund Ball. In addition, Smith has also served on PTA boards at Knox Middle and Salisbury High School. She has chaired several Patrons Balls for Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, the most recent being in September, with funds raised for purchasing the NHRMC 3D Mammography Scanner.
