Winter Weather Delays and Closings

SCHOOLS

Rowan-Salisbury Schools: Per Superintendent Lynn Moody: Schools will be closed Friday, Jan 22 for students and staff. All activities through the weekend canceled

Kannapolis City Schools:  Will be closed today.

Catawba College: The college will be closed and all classes cancelled Friday, Jan. 22

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College classes have been cancelled for today, and Sat., Jan. 23

Livingstone College: Classes canceled today.

North Hills Christian School will be closed today.

All Rowan County Crosby Scholars activities scheduled for Saturday have been canceled and will be rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 30, same time and same place. If you signed up for an event on the 23rd, your name will automatically be placed on the roster for the rescheduled events. Please call the office at 704-762-3512 with any questions.

SPORTS

The previously scheduled matchup between Livingstone College and Johnson C. Smith University on Saturday has been rescheduled for Sunday at Brayboy Gymnasium in Charlotte. Tip-off for the women’s basketball game is scheduled for 1 p.m.; 3 p.m. for the men’s game.

Health and Hospitals

Novant HealthIndividual practices closed include: Carolina Women’s Health, Carolina Oncology, Salisbury Surgical, Julian Road Imaging, Rowan Family Physicians, Rowan Neurology, Rowan Diagnostic Clinic, Salisbury Ob/Gyn.

Hefner VA Medical Center: outpatient appointments and procedures are canceled for Friday, Jan. 22 and Saturday, Jan. 23.

GOVERNMENT & SERVICES

Rowan County Government: Closed.

Rowan Transit System: will be closed Friday and Saturday

Salisbury City Government: Closed. State of emergency declared by mayor.

Job Fair: Rescheduled, Now Jan. 29 West End Plaza 9:00 – 12:00

OTHER

EZ Pawn and Jewelry, closed today and Saturday. Will open Monday, Jan. 25 at 9 a.m.

“Broadway Lullabies” performance tonight at Lee Street theatre canceled. Tickets may be exchanged for another performance of this show. A 2:30 matinee will be added next Saturday, Jan 30, to accommodate patron reservations. If you have tickets to tonight’s show, a representative from the theatre’s ticket office will contact you to arrange ticket exchange.

CSP-Salisbury, no second or third shift today.

Rowan Public library closed for the day.

Meals on Wheels: No deliveries today.

Rufty-Holmes Senior Center and all Lunch Club sites will be closed on Friday, Jan. 22 due to inclement weather conditions.

The North Carolina Transportation Museum will be closed today due to inclement weather. No word on Saturday.

J.F. Hurley and Saleeby-Fisher YMCA closed today.

Stitchin’ Post in downtown Salisbury is closed today.

Rowan Auction Gallery, auction scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 24, cancelled. Rescheduled for Jan. 31. Kip Jennings, 704-202-3239.
