Clinics will offer orthopedic, sports medicine and vascular care

ALBEMARLE — Two Salisbury-based practices have teamed up to open satellite clinics in Albemarle.

Novant Health Orthopedic & Sports Medicine-Salisbury and Novant Health Vascular Specialists-Rowan will share clinic space at 1420 U.S. Highway 52 N., Suite B.

Their agreement was based on the practices’ dual commitment to make health care more accessible and convenient for new and existing patients, according to Novant officials.

The Novant Health Orthopedic & Sports Medicine clinic will be open to patients seeking orthopedic care or sports medicine services Mondays from 1 to 5 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to noon.

Patients in need of vascular care can be seen at the same location starting Friday, Jan. 15, and continuing every other Friday thereafter, from 8 a.m. to noon. This new Novant Health location is the first in the surrounding Albemarle area to offer orthopedic, sports medicine and vascular care.

“We believe it is important to make health care more convenient for patients,” said Dr. Harrison Latimer of Novant Health Orthopedic & Sports Medicine. “Our new satellite clinic in Albemarle will provide the community with greater access to our experienced orthopedic specialists and state-of-the-art services.”

Latimer and his team of orthpedic specialists are staffing the orthopedics and sports medicine clinic in Albemarle. They will offer care for chronic orthopedic conditions and sports-related injuries. The clinic offers on-site X-rays, EMGs, physical therapy, second opinion assessments, workers’ compensation exams, and on-site bracing and casting.

Dr. Martin Carignan will lead the staff at Novant Health Vascular Specialists.

“For decades, our team of board-certified vascular surgeons has been providing comprehensive care for patients with diseases and disorders affecting the vascular system,” Carignon said. “Our new satellite clinic allows us to increase access for patients in need to post-operative surveillance, ensuring a smooth recovery process.”

In addition to post-operative surveillance, Carignan and his team of vascular specialists offer traditional vascular surgery, minimally invasive vascular surgical procedures, care for wounds, diabetes care and ongoing care for arterial and venous disorders.
