Crime blotter: Rash of vehicle break-ins reported

Nine Rockwell area residents reported their vehicles broken into between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

According to the report, a total of 11 locked and unlocked vehicles parked on Graceland Place, Gold Knob Road, Oak Grove Lane and Luther Barger Road in Rockwell were illegally entered Dec. 1. Victims reported that glove compartments and consoles were rifled through, and many reported items stolen including a wallet containing $600 in cash, a silver-colored .38 special Ruger handgun and two pairs of Oakley sunglasses.

One of the victims in the 100 block of Graceland Place reported that the passenger-side window of her car had been shattered with a rock. She told deputies she recalled hearing a loud noise around 2:30 a.m. Another victim reported hearing his dogs barking at around 11 p.m.

Graceland Place and Oak Grove Lane were the locations of a previous rash of vehicle break-ins that occurred on Oct. 7. The suspect in that case, Luther Sterling Blakeley, 33, was taking into custody on Nov. 23.

  • The Sheriff’s Office reports that a sex offender failed to notify of an online identifier.
  • Deputies served a 50b in the 100 block of Sam Euart Road.
  • Desean Ger0main, 43, was charged Tuesday at the Sheriff’s Office with assault on a female.
  • Mechelle Marciunna Glenn, 26, was charged Tuesday with simple assault in the 200 block of Grant Street.

In Salisbury Police Department reports:

  • Salisbury Motor Company in the 700 block of West Innes Street reported Wednesday that a vehicle was taken off the lot, but the victim was unsure of the date or time the crime occurred.
  • The J.F. Hurley YMCA reported that items were taken from the building Wednesday.
  • Someone reported Wednesday that they were allegedly assaulted by a woman and her 14 year-old daughter at Walmart.
  • A woman reported that items were taken from a vehicle Wednesday while it was parked at Halls Gym.
  • Walter Thomas orne, 56, was charged Thursday with breaking and entering a building at the corner of West Bank Street and Partee Street.
