Richard Ellis and Melissa Orr were the big winners on Saturday morning at the Landis Fire Department Breast Cancer 5K. The nice weather and challenging course around town offered a fun time for all the participants.

Ellis was the overall winner with a time of 21 minutes and 40 seconds. Robert Berini was a close second with a time of 21:59, followed by Rusty Smith in 22:43.

Orr took time off of her hectic marathon schedule to get an easy win in 22 minutes and 2 seconds. After completing five marathons this year and 75 overall, the 37-year-old from Charlotte has now run a marathon in all 50 states. She was followed by Florelay Brown in 23:27 and Candice Pethel in 24:49.

All participants were treated to a grilled chicken and pasta meal following the event. Complete results are at www.salisburyrowanrunners.org
