Burton, Stallworth win Nazareth Children’s Home Trail 5K

Roarke Burton was the overall winner at the Nazareth Children’s Home 5K Trail Run on Sunday afternoon. Burton led from start to finish with a time of 22 minutes and 25 seconds on the challenging course. Acquawon Stallworth led the women with a time of 25 minutes and 44 seconds. Katelyn Lenz won the fun run.

All participants were treated to a cookout after the event along with plenty of door prizes and sharp-looking shirts. Cheri Peterson from Nazareth said, “We want to keep doing this. It was exciting to have the runners here today. We want to make next year’s run even more special. Thanks to all the runners and volunteers who helped today.”

The Salty Caper, Extreme Performance and the Salisbury Tutoring Academy were among the sponsors. The Catawba College softball team volunteered for the event.
