Man charged in break-in at Pepper’s Garage

Derrick Scott Hammill, 48, was arrested Friday in connection with a robbery that occurred in August, according to Salisbury Police.

On Aug. 24, Hammill allegedly broke into Pepper’s Garage at the 900 block of Rowan Avenue and stole $700 worth of equipment, including a welder and several hand tools.

Hammill was arrested at the 900 block of Rowan Avenue and charged with breaking and entering, larceny, and obtaining property by false pretenses.

Hammill has previously been convicted in Rowan County of driving while impaired and driving with a license revoked.

A man reported that an assault occurred at the 600 block of Bringle Ferry Road, Friday.

Police seized drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop at the 200 block of North Long Street, Saturday.

A woman reported Sunday that items had been stolen from her vehicle at the 100 block of Ridge Avenue.

A man reported Sunday that a shotgun had been stolen from his residence at the 900 block of Rowan Avenue.

A woman reported Sunday that someone had forced their way in through the read door of her house at the 500 block of Club House Drive.

Dominique Franchesca Stafford, 28, was arrested Friday at the 400 block of Lake Wood Drive and charged with resist, delay, and obstructing a public officer.

Nelson Thomas, 51, was arrested Friday at the 600 block of Bringle Ferry Road on charges of assault on a female.

Chloe Lattanzi Thomas, 29, was arrested Friday at the 600 block of Mocksville Avenue on chargest of simple assault and simple assault and battery or affray.

In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports:

A man reported a burglary Thursday at his house at the 1100 block of Safe Haven Lane, Rockwell.

Misty Leann Gilbert, 30, was arrested Thursday on charges of larceny at the 4500 block of Fish Pond Road.

Kevin Shawn Hurley, 28, was arrested on charges of larceny at the 200 block of Bee Lake Drive on Thursday.

Carl Lee Burch, 31, was arrested Thursday at the 400 block of Grace Church Road on charges of possession with the intent to make, sell or distribute a controlled substance.

Angela Denise Cohill, 47, was arrested Thursday and charged at the Magistrate’s Office with conversion by bailee lesee tenant attorney-in-fact.

Kevin Brian Scott, 22, was arrested Thursday on charges of possession at the 200 block of North Main Street.
