Summer is hanging on, keeping us warm and muggy through next week.

Today will be partly sunny and quite warm, with a high of 86. A slight breeze from the north northeast may blow in this afternoon. Tonight’s low will be 66.

Fog is possible early tomorrow morning, but that will burn off and leave a partly sunny day with a high of 85. A 20 percent chance of showers is expected for the afternoon. The low will be 66 again.

For Sunday, we have a 20 percent chance of showers in the afternoon, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 86. The low will be 67.

Monday warms up to 89 degrees under mostly sunny skies. The low will be 66.

Tuesday should be mostly sunny again and 86, with a low of 64.

The high will be 86 again for Wednesday, under sunny skies. The low, due to clear skies, will be 64.

Thursday, too, will be sunny and 86.

So, we’re back to a pattern, like we have been most of the summer, but at least the upper 90s have not returned.

Children going back to school won’t have to worry about rainy waits for the bus anytime soon.
