Concord Police looking for Waffle House robber

CONCORD – Police are looking for a man who robbed a Waffle House restaurant Thursday night at gunpoint. The suspect forced an employee, who was at the back door, back inside and demanded money from the cash register.

No one was injured in the incident, which occurred around at 8:10 p.m. at 278 Concord Parkway south.

Concord Police said a heavyset black male described as 5 foot 10 inches to 6 foot tall, between 250 to 300 pounds displayed a handgun to the employee, a statement said.

Once in the back of the building, the suspect demanded the money, which the employee gave and the suspect left. It is unknown which way the suspect traveled, authorities said.

The suspect was wearing a white zip up hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black ball cap.
