Rowan weather: Wind, windy, windier

And it’s yet another cold start today, with the 8 a.m. temperature at 23 degrees. It should be a partly sunny day with a high near 50.

Winds will blow from the south southwest at 6-11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Tonight, the wind switches to the northwest, and the low will be 31 degrees.

Friday will be sunny and cooler, with a high of 45. The northwest wind will blow at 5-10 mph in the morning, increasing to 12-17 mph in the afternoon and gusting up to 28 mph. Friday night will be clear and cold, with a low around 22 and more wind.

Sunny skies show up Saturday, but it won’t be any warmer, with a high of 45. A 20 percent chance of snow showers moves in in the wee hours of Sunday, with a low around 32.

Sunday has a 50 percent chance of precipitation, starting with snow before 8 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow until 9, then just rain after 9. The high will be 47. And it continues Sunday night, with a 70 percent chance, and a low of 36.

Monday dawns with a 40 percent chance of rain, but skies will turn partly sunny and the high will be 45 degrees. Monday night will be another very cold one, with a low of 22.

It actually gets colder Tuesday, with a high near 41, and a low of 27.

Wednesday brings back a chance of rain — 30 percent, with a high near 45.
