President, NAMI Rowan

On Tuesday, Nov. 18, there will be a NAMI education meeting held in the fellowship hall of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1908 Statesville Blvd., from 7 until 8 p.m.

At the “In Our Own Voice” presentation, learn about mental illness from people who have been there.  This presentation will enrich the understanding of how over 58 million Americans contending with mental illness cope while also reclaiming rich and meaningful lives.

The two speakers are  J.C. Fortner, board of directors, NAMI Rowan and Barbara Valentine, NAMI member, artist and poet.

Refreshments will be served.  Please come out and support these brave individuals who will bare their soul to help end the stigma of mental illness. This is a Thanksgiving gift to individuals, veterans and their loved ones, family and friends to celebrate and understand mental illness.  There is hope and you are not alone.

Call Peggy Mangold NAMI  Rowan, 704-640-8811.
