LANDIS — The town of Landis has rescheduled its National Night Out event to Aug. 26 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. because of inclement weather. The event will take place on the soccer field across from the South Rowan branch of the YMCA.
The event was originally scheduled to take place today.
National Night Out events are held the first week in August across the nation.
In some cases, police departments plan the events while many communities block off streets so residents can enjoy food, music and games.
Some police agencies use the event as a way to hear residents’ concerns about their community while others use it as tool to get to know the people living there.
