LANDIS — The Landis Police Department is requesting donations for a canned food drive.

“We are asking participants to donate non-perishable food items such as canned vegetables, fruits, soups and proteins like tuna or chicken,” Chief Matthew Geelen said.

Collection boxes will be set up in the main lobby and at various locations throughout the building and the drive will run through the end of the month. The Landis Police Department is located at 136 N. Central Ave., Landis.

“Additionally, we will be hosting a ‘Cram the Cruiser’ event at Lake Corriher Wilderness Park on Saturday, March 23,” Geelen said. “This event is a great opportunity to bring your donations and help us fill a police cruiser with supplies for those in need.”

Cram the Cruiser will take place as part of Landis’ Easter Egg-stravaganza which starts at the park at 10 a.m. Lake Corriher Wilderness Park is located at 265 Tranquil Lake Drive.

There will be egg hunts for different age division, a meet and greet with the Easter bunny, a mini-petting zoo and ice cream and other sweet treats from local vendors.

There will be three separate Easter egg hunt times based on age group. Children ages three and under will go egg hunting at 10:30 a.m. Children ages four to six will begin at 11 a.m. A final Easter egg hunt for children ages seven to 10 will begin at 11:30 a.m.
