Bowden homered twice in Saturday’s third-round playoff opener against Winston-Salem. The first baseman led off the fifth with a home run and broke a 5-5 tie in the seventh with a two-run shot. Rowan won Game 1 10-5.

The Salisbury High graduate and Catawba commit has six home runs for Rowan and hit one in the All-Star Game. Bowden was an all-county player the last two seasons.
