The city would be wise to stem the rush to judgment by exercising transparency in this current controversy. It is not fair to elected officials or former employees for the veil of secrecy to fuel wild speculation in the absence of transparency.

When we leave a job our boss doesn’t pay us for a year for unworked time. If you resign, you resign. The city needs to look at that policy. They will be paying double for the work. Government at work.

Interesting severance package. The city does not have a history of paying out sick leave or holiday pay for employees terminating employment. Those who leave voluntarily giving a two week notice are typically limited to 240 hours of annual leave.
