CONCORD — Three people were hit by a van this morning outside a voting precinct.
The accident happened around 10:30 a.m. at Center United Methodist Church, 1119 Union St. S.
Authorities say Fay Griffin, 79, of Concord, was backing up in her minivan when she struck Tony Allen, 55, of Midland, Susan Hicks, 64, of Concord, and Sharon Campbell, 62, of Mount Pleasant. The minivan also hit a parked car.
The three were taken by Cabarrus County EMS to Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord, where they were all in stable condition and being treated Tuesday evening.
Voting continued at the precinct.
No charges had been filed this evening against Griffin. The investigation is ongoing.
