A group of 65 women recently met at The Heritage Room to participate in a fun, informative community outreach event titled “A New Year, A New You in Christ,” sponsored by Franklin Presbyterian Church.
Christian style coach, speaker and author Shari Braendel led the session.
Braendel has been featured on Focus on the Family, The Total Christian Television network (TNT), more than 50 radio stations like local favorite K-Love.
Special music was provided by Calebs Bridge, a local Christian band.
Braendel spoke about the importance of dress, sharing how dress reflects to the world who women are on the inside and also projects God’s likeness in the attire they choose to wear.
Participants from the audience modeled guidelines for dress, determined by four body shapes.
Braendel emphasized that fashion choices should be based on the best attire to help women discover and portray natural assets.
Other tips included selecting fashion accessories that complement hair color and choosing styles that makes a person feel her best.
Braendel also gave her personal testimony. Admission for the event was non-perishable food donations for Main Street Mission.
