Weather permitting, tonight the N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close the exit ramp from I-85 South to George Liles Parkway (Exit 54) and the entrance ramp from N.C. 73 to I-85 South in Concord from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday, as part of the $125.2 million I-85 widening project.
The closures will allow crews to temporarily switch traffic while tying in the ramps to their new alignments.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
