Wonders fall to JMR

Aitana Grant scored 17 points for the Wonders, and Kyla Downs had 11.
• Hickory Ridge’s girls defeated Northwest Cabarrus 55-53 Thursday with Kiana Davis’ 13 points leading the way.
Kenya Jones (12 points), Zharia Brown (12) and Stacia Means (11) ll had double-figures for HR.
Jones also grabbed 13 rebounds for a double double. Brown snagged 17 rebounds. NWC’s Ramesha Bennett led all scorers with 16 points.
HR moved to 3-5 and 3-2 in the SPC.
East Rowan’s jayvee boys basketball team defeated West Rowan 48-26 to improve its record to 5-3.
East’s Datavian Davis scored a game-high 17 points. Logan Shuping added 14 points while Lucas Morton (seven) and Corbin Elliott (six) contributed as well.
West’s Derrick Moreland and Amara Morris had six points each.
• East’s jayvee girls team beat West 58-30.
The Mustangs’ Brittany Small led all scorers with 17 points.
Jordan McCall and Avery Wright both scored 11 points. Courtney Wagner pitched in nine points.
The Mustangs moved to 6-2.
Sixty-one GARS members played in foursomes at Warrior this week.
The low ‘A’ Fight player was Gordon Correll with a net of 63.17.
The low “B’ Flight player with a net of 64.43 was Steve Albanese.
The low “C” Flight player with a net of 59.84 was Gary Morgan. The low ‘D’ Flight player with a net of 58.70 was John Goodman.
