WINSTON-SALEM (AP) — Police in Winston-Salem say the bodies of two men who live at the same address were found lying in a city park’s parking lot.
The Winston-Salem Journal quotes police as saying that Charles Timothy Nichols, 58, and Charles Timothy Nichols Jr., 29, were unresponsive and lying in the parking lot at Salem Lake Park on Wednesday. Authorities said both men had gunshot wounds and weapons were found at the scene.
Police did not describe the men’s relationship or exactly what happened, but said they aren’t searching for any suspects.
Officers closed the entire park after the bodies were discovered. The park’s trails were reopened, but its parking lot and entrance remained closed most of the day.
Salem Lake covers 365 acres and has a popular 7-mile trail around it.
