New food and horticulture agent joins extension staff

SALISBURY — Danelle Cutting is the local food and horticulture agent for North Carolina Cooperative Extension in Rowan County. As horticulture agent, she focuses on local foods, urban horticulture, master gardener program and community gardens.

She is a graduate of North Carolina State University and gained knowledge through her work history in the produce industry, agriculture business marketing and working on her family farm. In 2010 she joined North Carolina Cooperative Extension in Montgomery County and created a horticulture and Master Gardener program for future generations.

In August 2013 she joined the Rowan County Cooperative Extension where she plans to help enhance local farms, food and the community with horticulture and local food programs.
