Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Investigators say they’ve identified people involved in the shooting death of two Cleveland cousins, but won’t release the names until after state crime lab results are available.

Daniel Redman, 21, and William Redman, 20, were shot and killed July 20.

The incident began with a call about shots fired at a home at 1025 Mountain Road in Cleveland and ended with 911 dispatchers receiving another call about two gunshot victims at 520 Hildebrand Road, Salisbury.

When investigators arrived on Hildebrand Road, they found the cousins dead.

No charges have been filed.

Capt. John Sifford said in a news release Wednesday that investigators have conducted numerous interviews in an “effort to seek the truth in this incident.”

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and the Rowan District Attorney’s Office are awaiting results from evidence submitted to the state crime lab, he said.

Some family members have said via social media sites the cousins were entangled in a long-running dispute over a dog, but law enforcement officials haven’t confirmed a dispute.

The State Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the case.
