Authorities have captured a Rowan County man they say shot two people on Hawkinstown Road in June.
Jeremy Wayne Hasty, 23, was taken into custody Wednesday in Clinton, Mich. The shooting occurred June 30 and was reported in the 1000 block of Hawkinstown Road.
On June 30, Rowan County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene where they found a 22-year-old man and 28-year-old man with gunshot wounds.
A bullet also entered a home in the area, narrowly missing one of the residents inside.
Investigators identified Hasty, of South Iredell Avenue in Spencer, as the suspect in the shooting. They issued warrants charging him with two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and felony discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.
Hasty is currently on probation. He has previously been convicted of possession of a weapon on campus and carrying a concealed weapon.
Investigators say the shooting in which Hasty is charged is not connected to an early June shooting on Hawkinstown Road. Rodney Markeith Jones, 33, was shot in the abdomen and ankle, but was not cooperative and withdrew his request for further investigation.
