Investigators looking for Kannapolis woman suspected of forging grandmother’s checks
Investigators are looking for a Kannapolis woman who they say forged 36 checks that belonged to her grandmother for about a month while she lived in the same house.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Christen Suzanne Castor, 26, of the 500 block of State Road, and have issued arrest warrants for her. Castor lives with her grandmother at the home, officials said.
Castor’s grandmother, Ruby Gainey, received a letter from her bank, Fifth Third Bank, who told Gainey her account was overdrafted by $3,243. When Gainey went to the bank, bank personnel told Gainey the checks were written between May 6 and June 6. The checks were made out to Christen Castor.
Gainey received the letter June 6 and by June 12 she’d contacted law enforcement. Warrants for forgery have been issued for Castor.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Christen Suzanne Castor is asked to contact the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office at 704-216-8700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
