A Salisbury man who authorities say pawned items he stole from a Sherrills Ford Road home a week ago remains behind bars after his Wednesday arrest.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged Terrence Lamar Alexander, 24, of the 1300 block of Lakewood Drive, with one count felony breaking and entering, two counts felony larceny of firearms and one count felony obtaining property by false pretenses.
The victim, James McCall, reported to authorities on June 3 that his door was forced open. He told deputies someone stole two handguns, a laptop, ammunition, a 37-inch flat-screen television, a Verizon Wireless mobile hot spot device, two watches, three frying pans, shirts and a bandana.
The TV was found at Quick Cash Pawn, Statesville Boulevard, and the suspect had been caught on video surveillance, said Capt. John Sifford. An employee at Quick Cash Pawn said the TV was brought into the store. A video shows Alexander taking the television out of a pickup. The employee identified Alexander and the owner of the TV was able to confirm the pawned TV did in fact belong to him, Sifford said.
He remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $15,000.01 bond.
