Police investigating attempted robbery at Hefner VA Medical Center bank

Authorities are investigating an attempted robbery at the Hefner VA Medical Center branch of the Premier Federal Credit Union.
About 7:15 a.m., a VA Medical Center employee saw a man push a female credit union employee into the bank immediately after she opened the door, a VA news release said.
When the robber realized he was seen pushing the employee, he fled into building 6 and exited the building through a basement door.
VA Police called the Salisbury Police Department and Rowan County Sheriff’s Department to assist in the investigation. Officers searched the perimeter and collected evidence.
The investigation is continuing.
