SALISBURY — Ladies strutted down the runaway in vintage fashions during the Landmark Church’s annual ladies spring banquet.
“Life Is Not A Dress Rehearsal” was the theme for the event.
Each woman in attendance was given the book “Life is Not a Dress Rehearsal” by Sheri Rose Shepard and John Perry.
“The book was found first and the fashion evolved from the title,” said Cathy Faucette, one of the event organizers.
Faucette said the church hosted a homegrown fashion show several years ago to give high school girls in the church a chance to wear their prom gowns a second time.
“This time the fashions were collected from church family and friends to use,” she said. “Fashion interests most women of all ages and I’ve found that the older ladies really like to discuss fashion from their younger days.”
Church member Margie Hartley was the featured speaker.
“The goal was to have each lady enjoy herself, bring back a few memories of days gone by, but to remember it doesn’t matter what we wear on the outside but what’s in our heart that makes the difference,” Faucette said. “We get one chance and it’s called our lifetime.”
