Free classes for those caring for Alzheimer’s patients start today at Home Instead

Home Instead Senior Care of  Salisbury is offering free Alzheimer’s training classes for family caregivers in the Cabarrus and Rowan communities.
This workshop series of four classes will teach you about the causes of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. You will learn how to recognize symptoms and discover how Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias are diagnosed. You will earn about situations you may encounter as the disease progresses, and ways to manage your stress and unique behavior challenges of caring for a loved one with dementias. 
 The series will cover:

• Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, today, April 4
• Capturing life’s journey, April 11
• Techniques to handle challenging behaviors, April 18
• Activities to encourage engagement, April 25
Class times are 3-5 p.m. at Home Instead Senior Care, 1839 Jake Alexander Blvd. W. Suite A. Registration is required by calling Robin Scharding at 704-636-2010.
