Police: Hitchhiker robs motorist
SALISBURY — A 51-year-old motorist told officers a female hitchhiker pulled a knife on him and stole his GPS.
A Salisbury Police report said the Landis resident picked the woman up at a street in Spencer about 2 a.m. this morning.
She instructed the man to take her to a home near Salisbury High School, but later changed the destination to a house on South Ellis Street.
When they arrived, the woman grabbed the driver’s GPS.
“I want this,” she said, according to the report.
When the man questioned her, she pulled out a knife and ran from the vehicle.
Authorities said she was last seen fleeing between a row of homes.
Police said the woman was a thin, blonde, white female wearing blue jeans. She also wore a knit hat, the report said.
