SALISBURY – A Winston-Salem man has been charged with kidnapping a Salisbury girl in April.
The 15-year-old disappeared April 9 and was found exactly one month later.
On Friday, authorities charged Wesley Allen Talbert, of Oak Ridge Court, with felony second-degree kidnapping.
According to an arrest warrant, Talbert, 30, also had sex with the girl during her monthlong disappearance. Authorities said additional charges are expected in the case.
Talbert was in Rowan County jail Friday under a $100,000 bond.
The 15-year-old vanished after leaving her home for spring break in April.
Relatives said in May that the girl was located in Winston-Salem but was not staying with family members.
