Traffic stop yields more than $6,000 in stolen tools, copper

SALISBURY — Authorities said a Deer Road man cut the fencing around a Salisbury business and stole more than $6,000 in tools and copper wiring.
According to Salisbury Police, a Rowan County deputy stopped Davey Lee Buelin, 29, during a traffic stop on Crescent Road Tuesday night.
The officer called Salisbury Police after he found 700 feet of copper wire and four DeWalt 18-volt drills in the vehicle.
The property was determined to be that of Gamewell Mechanical on Jake Alexander Boulevard, the report said.
When the Salisbury Police Department was notified, authorities said, an employee had just realized property was missing from a trailer at Gamewell Mechanical.
Officers found a hole had been cut through a nearby fence in the property.
Buelin was charged with felony larceny and felony breaking and entering.
He was in jail Wednesday morning under a $25,000 bond.
