Coming Sunday: New aid for dance exercises

The bands, invented by a Princeton University chemist and manufactured in Salisbury, allow users to slide, twist and wiggle their hips while wearing running shoes without hurting their knees.
Creator Katie Hughes, a Charlotte native, left her career in science and management to launch the company, which sold 15,000 pairs of Slip-On Dancers last year.
